🌌 Daily Reflection
Ah yes—grief. That warm emotional blanket soaked in snot, shame, and regret. Nothing like starting your day crying for three hours because a dead houseplant or a rude text from 2011 just hit different.
If you’re still grieving something from ten years ago, congratulations—you’re officially human. Or as psychodynamic theory would say, you’re tangled in a sticky web of complicated mourning, spun from childhood losses, adult disappointments, and probably a few forgotten birthdays.
We don’t just grieve people who left. We grieve the people who never really showed up. The ones who ghosted us emotionally while insisting they were “doing their best.” And when your therapist says, “Let yourself feel the sadness,” what they really mean is: Brace yourself—everything you’ve suppressed is about to explode like the Death Star.
But in a galaxy far, far away, Luke didn’t say, “Grief? Hard pass.” He ugly-cried over Obi-Wan and somehow turned it into a full spiritual glow-up. So maybe your tears aren’t pathetic. Maybe they’re data. Maybe they’re the GPS rerouting you out of emotional purgatory and toward something truer.
So if you’re crying again today?
Great. That means you’re not dead inside.
Yet.
