🌌 Daily Reflection

Let’s be honest: healing is boring as hell.

It’s not a cinematic montage of breakthroughs set to Florence + The Machine while you cry attractively in soft lighting. It’s you—back in therapy for the 83rd consecutive week—having the exact same realization you had last month:

“Oh cool. My abandonment wound. Again.”

In psychodynamic therapy, we call this working through. Which is a very polite way of saying: you’re stuck in the same emotional loop, but now you’re aware of it. Congratulations. You’re still a mess—but a self-aware, emotionally literate mess. Growth!

Object relations theory tells us that trust and object constancy are built through consistency. Translation: you have to keep showing up—even when every cell in your body would rather fake its own death than respond to that one family group text.

This is the part of healing no one glamorizes. The repetition. The irritation. The quiet rage of realizing insight alone does not magically cure shit.

And then there’s Yoda, smug as ever, saying, “Patience you must have.”

Which in Jedi language means: healing takes forever, and sometimes you regress so hard you briefly wonder if your therapist has switched to gaslighting as an advanced clinical intervention.

But here’s the truth no one wants to hear: showing up anyway is the work. Not perfectly. Not enthusiastically. Just… consistently. Even when you’re exhausted, cynical, and powered mostly by spite and caffeine.

That’s not failure.

That’s endurance.

đź’ Thought for the Day

Show up. Even if you’re 87% resentment and 13% decaf.

đź–‹ Reflection Questions

  1. What emotional pattern do you keep meeting that you wish would hurry up and resolve already?

  2. How do you usually treat yourself when growth feels repetitive instead of rewarding?

  3. What would “showing up anyway” look like today—without overachieving?

(Because you get knocked down… and then you complain about it first.)

🌀 Quote “I find your lack of regulation… disturbing.” — Not Darth Vader, but probably your therapist 🌌 Daily Reflection Ah yes—the end of the month. It’s your unconscious flipping out like R2-D2 on a bender. Psycho...
